Each year we have an annual auction. The money that comes from this event makes up our reserves for the larger projects at the school, like building and classroom improvements, and general maintenance. All families are required to participate in this event in some form.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on parent participation in order to keep our tuition low and our quality high. We depend on the supplements of parent donations (volunteer time or materials) in order to fully round out our programs. The number of required hours depends on the program. Hours range from 8-15 for the ten month school year.
Before and after care
We offer a before and after school care program to help accomodate parent's schedules. The hours are from 7-9am and from 3-5:30pm. Time used in Explorer's Club is a charge in addition to standard tuition.
Board of Directors
As a nonprofit organization, BLS is headed by a Board of Directors. These are parent and community volunteers who define the mission and purpose of the school and work to ensure that this mission is carried out.
The Board of Directors is vital to us as a nonprofit, and also for the invaluable experience the volunteers bring to us. We are often looking for qualified individuals to flesh out our Board, so if you're interested, please send a letter of intent email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
