Parent Participation

As a non-profit 503(c) establishment, Parent Participation is one of the key components that allows us to provide the quality work that we do as a non-profit. Our parent-hour involvement supports the work that we do to provide quality learning experiences. Parental involvement also more securely sets these students up
to develop a lifelong love of learning. Parents participate by completing parent hours by joining
one of our many parent committees and participating in our annual auction.

Parent Hour Requirements & Ways to Meet Your Parent Hour Requirements

Join a Committee

Joining one of our amazing committees is another way to complete
parent hours. Committees are flexible where parents can work on items with the whole group or be assigned for items individually.
Committees are a great way to meet other BLS families and get more involved in the BLS community.

Join the Board of Directors

As a non-profit establishment, Burlington Little School
maintains an active Board of Directors. Their purpose is to maintain the mission of the school while providing support and guidance to the Executive Director.
Board Meetings are held monthly on the last Thursday of the month. Please email: director@burlingtonlittleschool.org if you are interested in joining a board meeting or have questions on how to get involved on the board.

Join in on the fun

Partner with your child's teacher to create a fun learning experience. Parents can gain hours through class participation such as planning an activity, reading a book, or helping the teacher with a special project. This is also a great opportunity to share your heritage and cultural practices. Also, all purchases made toward classrooms or school supplies are used towards parent hours. Donations are always welcome.

If you have a passion for gardening this might be the committee for you. The garden and grounds committee is responsible for maintaining the garden program and developing works plans that support ongoing garden maintenance.

Teacher Appreciation Committee

Here at BLS we appreciate our teachers and take pride in showing our gratitude and recognition for the hard work and dedication of the teachers, highlighting their significant role in nurturing young children's early development through thoughtful gestures and special celebrations.
