Our Programs

We understand how important early learning is to young, developing minds.  We also know that it can be very difficult to find a place that is at once developmentally appropriate for children, nurturing, and that also follows the stringent rules of state licensing.  Here at Burlington Little School we strive to do all three in one authentic and genuine preschool experience.

Our Curriculum

Our teachers use Emergent curriculum through play-based learning.  This is a process where teachers plan activities and projects based on the individual children in their classrooms, taking into account their skills, needs, and interests.

The emergent curriculum approach allows teachers to build a curriculum that best suits their specific class at that time, as needs change based on the children. Emergent, play-based learning embeds all the important developmental domains into a child’s play. This includes domains such as literacy, math, cognitive, physical, and social-emotional learning.  BLS values the importance that “work is play” and incorporates play as a central component of the learning process.
