Executive Director
Adam McGarity is an educational leader with a variety of professional experiences. Originally from Georgia, he has lived in La Conner since 2018. Adam holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching Foreign Language, certifications in elementary and early childhood education, and a bachelor’s degree in history and Christianity He’s spent over 10 years as a teacher, having taught three languages to adults, social studies and science to 6th graders, and general education to pre-k and elementary learners. He also has experience as a university program manager. Adam is a member of the Rotary Club, a Marine Corps veteran, and a former Peace Corps volunteer. Adam is a proud father to his 4-year-old son, and as a strong believer in play-based and project-based learning for kids and adults, he is very happy for the opportunity to apply all his skills towards making a positive impact at BLS.
Board of Directors
As a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, Burlington Little School has a board of directors that works in partnership with the Executive Director to help further the growth of the program and community. Positions on the board are staffed on a volunteer basis by members of BLS and surrounding community.
The Board of Directors meets once a month from September - June on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm. Meetings are open to all.
Attending a meeting is a great way to stay up to date with happenings at the school and to get to know the members of the board.
